General English Courses for Adults

The aim of these courses is to give the student the tools by which he can understand and express himself both in speaking and the written word. Before enrolling for any course, the prospective students are assessed so that they can be placed in a class with students of a similar level of English. The course can be taken over the academic year (October to June) with 2 lessons of 90 minutes per week or intensively (see INTENSIVE). There is a maximum number of 12 students per group.
Private Classes: We can organise especially tailored courses for individuals or small groups (max. 6 students).

Courses for Children and Teenagers

These courses are the child’s first contact with the language. Our teachers use a wide variety of techniques and materials, including the more traditional (songs, stories, drama) and the more contemporary (videos, CD Roms), all prepared with a specific age group in mind.

The Playschool courses are for children in the first and second years of primary school. The children have two lessons of 45 minutes a week.

The Infantil courses are for children in the third and fourth years of primary school. The children have two lessons of an hour per week.

In both cases there are never more than 12 children in a class.

Students may sit for the UCLES English Language Certificates, including the Preliminary English Test, the First Certificate in English, the Certificate in Advanced English and the Certificate of Proficiency in English.

Intensive Courses

During July and September we run Intensive Courses for students who may not be able to attend during the academic year or wish to make rapid progress. Students may choose to do a 4-week Intensive course (45 hours) or a 2-week Semi-Intensive(15 hours).

Courses Abroad

With its network of schools around the world International House is able to offer a wide range of courses abroad. A student wishing to do a course in English can choose between various cities, such as London, Dublin, San Diego or Sydney. There are also opportunities to learn French, German, Spanish, Italian, Arabic or Russian in the countries where they are spoken.

Courses for Companies

We organise courses for company personnel, taking into consideration their particular language requirements. The lessons can be given at International House or the company’s premises. If the company so wishes, we can prepare the students for the UCLES certificates – BUSINESS ENGLISH CERTIFICATE 1, 2 and 3. We can also arrange for company personnel to attend courses in English-spealing countries.

German and Spanish

General German or Spanish Courses can be taken over the academic year (October to June) with 3 hours of lessons a week or intensively in July or September. We prepare courses specifically designed for companies which can be given at International House or on company premises.

GENERAL ENGLISH COURSES 2006/2007
General English courses start in October and are expected to end 27th June. Holidays do not affect the overall number of hours of the course.

Payments on a termly basis should be made by the 15th of the first month of that term, after which time this mode of payment will no longer be available. Monthly payments should be made by the 15^th of each month.
